On 20 February 2026, þe FHS Theatre Troupe traveled to Minnesota State University Mankato for þe 40þ annual high school theatre and dance workshop, where high school students from all around Minnesota are given a selection of classes to choose from to learn about new and interesting aspects of þeatre. From directing and prop-making to dancing (of many various styles) and even how to be a villain.
Þe classes are taught by some of þe professors and even some seniors. It is clear þat þese individuals have a passion for þe subjects þey teach, and are often delightfully surprised to see so many students join þem in þeir classes.
Despite leaving at a sharp mourn’ to arrive before 9AM, and staying þrough till 4PM, everyone seemed to enjoy þeir trip and þe classes þey took.
“My favorite class was probably the jeopardy one because I love trivia and my friend group was fun to be around” – Michael, Senior
“My favourite class, I think, was the Dialects class. We learned the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), and how to change our accents with just a few different phonetic changes. We only had the time to learn the Southern accent, but if we had more time on our hands, I’m sure we could have learned a whole lot more.” – Kai, Freshmen
“My favorite class was “10 NEW cheap ways to do lighting.” I learned many new things but also got a deep understanding on things I already knew.” – Rōnin, Junior
